Castles in the Sand
April 29th, 2006 - Despite the gusty winds and limited sun, sandcastle builders and their architects flocked to Jacksonville Beach for the annual Sandcastle Building contest at the end of Beach Blvd. As the first of two events celebrating the "Opening of the Beaches" (not that the beach was ever closed), the sandcastle building event attracts families mostly from Jacksonville and the beaches area for a day of frolicking in the sand and exhibiting some local artistic expression. This year did not disappoint, as the people came and imaginations flowed!
